Charges Jerry Earl Cook, 49, of 4652 Franklin St., Apt. 8, Icard was served a warrant Tuesday for assault on a female.

Three more filed for the school board election on Tuesday. Incumbent Buddy Armour filed for the central district seat, as did Creag Hanson, while Justin Tate filed for the western district seat on the Burke County Board of Education.

The filing period for the Nov. 3 election starts Monday. Filing opens at 8 a.m. Monday and runs through noon on July 17.
