No fooling, Dresden residents are serious about the 2010 census. With a first-round deadline date of Thursday -- April Fool's Day -- the tiny Decatur County community of Dresden was tops in northwest Kansas in terms of how many people have returned their census questionnaires.

In all, parts of western Kansas received as much as 7 or 8 inches of snow, but accumulations were spotty, said Kelly James, with the National Weather Service office in Goodland.
