Deputy involved shooting reported in Downey

This occurred on the 13200 block of Blodgett Avenue. Half a dozen deputies piled out of an unmarked truck and advanced toward the residence with weapons -- hand guns and shotguns -- at the ready. Several dozen shots were fired.
The street was blocked off. Residents were not permitted to drive to their own house, but were forced to park a distance away and walk in. Later in the evening, half a dozen other unmarked cars were admitted to the area, bringing a dozen men in suits. A KNBC4 newsvan was turned away.
After 9 pm, seven SUVs drove up, and men with Crime Lab vests went to the scene. Some of these investigators had been called from as far away as East Los Angeles. Work proceeded into the early morning. The house under investigation was illuminated from outside by the high intensity lights of a rescue vehicle.
Residents were not informed of anything that happened, but were merely told to stay out of police business.

I would be relieved knowing that a murder suspect was under surveillance and is taken out of public after shooting at law enforcement, even if it meant temporary inconvenience for the night. It's much better than having a murder suspect next door, ready to kill again.

I hope they irradicate all the gangs from Downey. Gangs are moving in to the good side of town and putting hard working citizens in danger.

I cant believe our street had a killer down the street, and we still got a sex offender living down the street too.

It was his girlfriends house. Like a coward, he was hiding out there.

To bad the cholo was not killed by the Police, they should have fired a few more shots. Now taxpayer have to waste money for medical care, a trial, and prison for this low life loser.

Well, at least the loser was shot and he will be brought to justice.

He more than likely killed another gang member, so looks like karma comes back to get the losers first. Relieved no Deputies or innocent citizens got harmed, which is how these types of warrents should end-with the criminal getting his payback.
