Congratulations to all the graduates. It really puzzles me to know that these students work at their own pace, whatever that is, and complete graduation requirement in HALF the time that normal high school students complete their work. If this can be done at York County High School, then why aren't ALL schools doing this to save money??? And the grade point average amazes me. Would love to see these students take a PA Education Test to receive a diploma. I do not mind faithfully paying my school taxes (ain't that a switch from most taxpayers) but only for a one shot chance at an education. If one is so brilliant that they seem to think they do not need a real high school diploma, let them pay for it...not on my dollar. Every employer knows the significance of a GED and this type diploma. Give me a break. Get your feel good kicks but not out of my tax dollars.

Great job, graduates. Alan is a great example that it is NEVER too late to become educated.

Don't stop there!!! Once you have that initial thirst for knowledge, sometimes it just cannot be quenched. York College and Penn State York offer great opportunities for adult students -- the sky is the limit.

And, for all of those student slackers out there -- his story rings so very true, your earning potential may be limited by your educational background.

Good luck, graduates, in all of your future endeavors.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Cancer

Someone dear to your heart isn't exactly a barrel of laughs today, are they? Is it your imagination or are they taking a perverse delight in spreading doom and gloom in all directions? If they've got good reason to be miserable then they deserve your sympathy, but even so it may not last for long. Try to keep active and cheerful, otherwise you'll also develop a tendency to brood.
