Bringing spiritual encouragement to Christian believers in the Philippines was the call presented to Ike and Phyl Uittenbogaard recently.
The Hull couple spent 10 days in the Asian country, witnessing a simpler way of life, but being uplifted and blessed by the people there.
The couple belongs to the Calvary Protestant Reformed Church in Hull and Ike is also a member of the Foreign Missions Committee, which is under the authority of the Synod of the Protestant Reformed Churches. The purpose of Protestant Reformed Missions is to preach the blessed gospel to all creatures, baptizing, and teaching them to observe all things, which Christ has commanded; it is the explicit duty and sacred privilege of said churches to carry out this calling according to the measure of our God-given ability.

Henry Van Den Top, 51, was brought to his heavenly home on Monday, October 20, 2008, while on the job doing what he loved. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hull Protestant Reformed Church in Hull. Private burial was at Hillside Cemetery in Doon. The Reverend David Overway officiated.
Henry Wayne Van Den Top was born June 26, 1957, to Minard and Cora (Maasen) Van Den Top in Sioux Center. He was raised in the Doon area. Henry was united in marriage to Marlene Fisher on August 12, 1978, in Randolph, Wis. Henry worked construction his whole life with the last 13 years being with Hoogendoorn Construction, Canton, S.D. He was a member of the Doon Protestant Reformed Church. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his family.
