Malta man pleads no contest in goat deaths

GLASGOW - A Malta man accused of killing 200 goats pleaded no contest Thursday to aggravated animal cruelty, however he will have to wait until his March 29 sentencing to learn if the district judge will accept a plea agreement.

A Malta man accused of leaving more than 200 goats to die last February in Dodson reached a plea agreement that allows him to avoid jail time, but forbids him from owning goats for the next six years.
