SCC wraps up taxidermy conference today
Surry Community College wraps up one of the largest taxidermy conferences in the United States today at the school's Dobson campus.
Mr. Clarence Eugene "Gene" Wilmoth, 74, of Thurmond, passed away at his home. He was born in Surry County on July 14, 1938, to the late James Calvin and Effie Jane Pardue Wilmoth.

Driver facing charges in head-on wreck
