Mike,
This is great technology. Granicus has done a fantastic job streaming and archiving the City of Vacaville's city council and planning commission meetings for years now. Along with having agendas available online, a constituent can click on a past agenda item, and it'll automatically load the archived video of that meeting exactly at that spot on the agenda. Great tool for transparency in public meetings. Granicus is also piloting an upgrade to this that would allow the public to submit questions on the agenda in advance that could be answered online by staff, making meetings quicker, or answered during the meeting, or both.
As they're the main player in this space, and given that dozens of other municipalities have already done the RFP process and selected Granicus, I'd urge passage without wasting staff's time doing the RFP. You'll be happy and save staff time & money.
Signed,
a happy Granicus user from Vacaville

That is not the way to do the public's business. I would at least like to know who Granicus' competitors are and what they have to offer. The product seems fine and cutting edge but you never know what else is out there by doing what everyone else is doing.

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Scorpio

If you're concerned about finding the cash for what usually turns out be an expensive month, the New Moon is the time to start on a budget or some other financial strategy. Try talking to an expert during the coming fortnight, or simply decide to cut down on your expenses. Don't spend so much on presents this year.
