A buddy out of Longview said he'd killed a mosquito carrying a canteen. A man in Dime Box said chicken farmers were giving chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

As of Friday, July 1, 2011 it is no longer necessary for those receiving water from Lee County Fresh Water Supply District #1 to boil drinking water.

Officials in the city of Dime Box issued a boil water notice for residents Wednesday morning.
