Interesting that the reporter was unable to reach Ling-Ling Chang via e-mail or phone calls.

What is up with that?

The winners will be:

Tye
Everett
Chang

There was no chance of stopping Roski, and Diamond Bar jackpotted on the deal.
The stadium issue is dead, and Diamond Bar will be better off without Wen Chang. If Jack could get along with the rest, we would have a dynamite council.

My vote will not go to those that were on the council and decided to just roll over to Roski for $20M. This is an easy vote. I am glad housing prices are low now. I can just buy a new house in a city far, far away from a stadium. The way I liked it in Diamond Bar. The stadium does nothing for me.

It would be good if the paper could devote space to the topics of the headline.
1. How do the candidates view the proposed stadium as a neighbor- what are the options they forsee working with should there be problems- either with its creation or should it not happen- the loss of anticipated revenud from the project.
2. How do the candidates propose to pay for proposed projects? Diamond Bar Redevopment Agency is defunct because court did not see blight. You have a candidate without that base knowledge- which ought to be more embarassing than not being able to reach one of the Chang's named in the article for comment.
3. Assuming the reporter could not reach Ling Chang- the article was about the actual forum- what she said there should have sufficed.
4. No mention of the qualifications- what candidates have worked for in the community is more indicative of what they will do than what they will promise. Please cover that.

The winners will be Tye, Chang and Everett because the competition is supported completely by outsiders like Lim and Bjerke in Walnut. They have no influence here and cannot get a one year resident elected, just because she did not want the stadium. The voters here will not support a lunatic fringe.

I agree with "my vote" and Raul
I really did love this city, but now with what is looming on the horizon...well, we are looking to move to a city where, hopefully, those in charge won't sell us out.

I am a 43 year resident of Diamond Bar and I care deeply which people run my city! I attended the candidate forum on Tuesday evening and I found myself having to chuckle at some of the challenger's answers to the questions asked of them. "Pie in the sky" is what they sounded like! It made me laugh at those who are actully against the stadium BUT their answer to how they proposed to pay for their spending programs was with money from the stadium project!! What hypocrites! We know that some of the CAS people from Walnut are involved here with some of our challengers as we saw some of them in the audience!
I have seen members of the council come and go over the years. We have been so very fortunate to have level headed conservative councilmembers running our city, hence millions in reserve! Judging by some answers, the challengers do not like seeing all those dollars sitting there and propose to spend right down to what is needed in the budget each year. A recipe for disaster!!
Bring back our incumbents, Steve Tye, Mayor Ron Everette and Ling Ling Chang!(Oh yes, I have never had a problem reaching Ling Ling! Maybe you dialed the wrong number?)

You can tell by the comments written by the Stadium supporters the kind of mentallity that we are dealing with. That is the caliber of the people that will be coming into our neighborhoods and eventually those are the people that will be left living in the area once the dust has settled.

I support the Stadium and I would like to know what you're referring to as far as "mentallity that we are dealing with" I would like to to address your spelling, it's Mentality not mentallity. Also you mentioned "You can tell by the comments written by the Stadium supporters the kind of mentallity that we are dealing with" You know what I see here? I see someone trying to act smart and above all people here. I'm not impressed at all and wish you luck when trying to post another elementary post here.

Good Luck!

I have a few words for Liu and Chang and anyone else that supports them..First of all, you have not lived in this country long enough to be complaining. How many of your men have served this country in World War Two, Korea, Vietnam ,Iraq etc.? Where were you during the Great Depression? Get my point? When the San Gabriel Vallley began changing rapidly into an Asian Community; Valley Boulevard and Garvey Boulevard became Asian owned, I don't hear you complaining about dust, traffic or noise! I've have seen all three elements in Asia!

I am a Vietnam vet and I can see Gus' point but don't fault people because they are not from here and did'nt serve in our wars. If you dodn't see eye to eye, disagree respectfully.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Leo

It's hard to pin down a certain person today because they're being so vague and dithery. Ask them a question and they'll vacillate or be unable to give you a straight answer. You might suspect them of deceitful goings on but it's far more likely that they're simply in a world of their own and can't keep their mind on anything for long. Don't worry, they'll soon be back on planet earth.
