I don't know, I've only heard that it was a terrible accident involving several people in their early twenties going very fast over that railroad crossing by Riverbend.

Maybe it's just a rumor...

There are a lot of things that happen in this town that NEVER make the paper!

what happen on monday when they had a shorts truck and all kinds of cops with portable lights winching something out of the pecos by the batan bridge

OMG, that is awful. Amazing things like that aren't reported on in the CCA.

I saw a bunch of cops at the corner apts on Tierra Del Sol. I man was laying by the dumpster. A resident told me he got shot and also the truck that when into the river. Some kids were racing and somehow went into the river. Theres alot of stuff that happens that never makes it into the paper. I remember seeing that mideget celebrity that was in Las Cruces make it to the paper a while back.

Tell me about it, problem with the current argus, if you don't call and make arrangements for a story, they are not going to take initiative to go find newsworthy stories. They have to fall in their lap in order to make the newspaper. I guess they go to bed at 8:00 like most of this town.

the newspaper doesn't necessarily have to respond to every accident. Police reports were filed and they are public record. A little effort and they can get the details that way, or is that too easy?
