Students at Southland Public Schools could be the envy of kids - and the scorn of some parents - everywhere.

A few local teenagers were their own worst enemies during separate drinking and driving incidents over the weekend.

As of Wednesday night a number of accidents had been reported, including several rollovers.

A Hayfield teenager pleaded not guilty to two felony property damage charges Thursday for allegedly driving a truck through a number of rural properties in September.

Bernard Olson was a lifelong hunter. The 44-year-old Austin man will be remembered today, a week after his body was found in rural Fillmore County, according to his mother and brother-in-law. Verne F. Olson of Dexter said his brother-in-law hunted for most of his life.

A 19-year-old area man has been charged with two felonies for allegedly driving in the wrong lane on purpose, leading to a head-on crash, in Grand Meadow last spring.

A Racine, Minn., man who allegedly drove drunkenly through a yard in Dexter was charged Tuesday.

A 31-year-old Racine man was arrested for drunken driving after allegedly driving through a yard and being pulled over by the property owner.
