Defendant arrested for malicious assault on officer
A Delbarton resident found himself charges with alleged crimes that he could have avoided if he would have complied with a traffic stop by a West Virginia State Trooper instead of choosing to flee.
Flanked by over a dozen West Virginia State Police Troopers and Cabell County Deputies, Tennis Melvin Maynard made his public debut in a Cabell County courtroom dressed in a hospital gown looking pale and weak, carrying two bags of I.V. antibiotics, and entered a not guilty plea to the charges for which he was indicted.
Mabel Marie Brewer, 83 of Lenore, WV passed away May 8, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
Alleged shooter of Mingo sheriff to be arraigned Wednesday
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The man accused of fatally shooting Mingo County Sheriff Eugene Crum is being released from the hospital and is expected to be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge.
Amanda Curry, 29, of Delbarton, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
The criminal complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate's Court says a West Virginia State Police officer stopped Curry after seeing Sherman Jones lean into the window of a Chevrolet Trail Blazer, then turn and place something in his back pocket.
