So 25 million mexicans get to stay and yet here is a vital witness to one of our fallen men in uniform and he gets the boot. WTF is wrong with this picture????? What about the gang members here from all the latin countries killing and doing drugs being protected by the aclu. This place is not worth squat with the way the elected members are running the show?

There should be a law against allowing someone to "use" your identity "with that person's permission".

Ok two issues:

1. this article states that a year ago he was a good witness the problem is that Sgt. Reyka has not been dead a year or close to a year, August 10th!!! Sun Sen needs to get their facts straight.

2. Is BSO really charging and deporting the only witness who stepped forward in this case?? BSO better explain to us what is really going on because if the public is to believe this article then BSO is absolutely horrible, corrupt, useless baby whiners!!!! By the way, who in Pompano in that area at that time is not going to have a criminal history?? Did they think maybe the guy used a false name because if he ID's the shooter he might be killed???

This article should not have been released due to the sensitivity of the case and the fact that it could ruin the investigation.
BSO PLEASE EXPLAIN!

Sgt Reyka, you are still in our hearts and if BSO can't find your killer, GOD WILL!

A witness neeeds to be able to make an identification. This man has no clue who shot Sgt. Reyka. All he knows is that somwone got out of a white car and shots were fired. He as well as the millions of other ILLEGAL aleins all need to be deported. It is a travesty to all those who came here legally and to those still waiting on lists.

Please tell me that BSO has another angle other than stupid.
Please tell me that they can guarantee getting this guy back.
Please tell me that the lead detective on this was trying to solve his brother's murder and not off in the weeds because he is not used to dealing with BIG CITY trivialities.
Please tell me that he was forced to do this by a supervisor that has never done intensive investigations.
PLEASE!

Real "vital witness" --- this guy was admittedly ducking his head down during the entire crime.

I can't stand these Jamaicans. Especially the law-abiding, educated, upwardly mobile British sounding ones.

They really get under my skin.

They are always out doing some sport or activity does not require a basketball or football like we have trained our native born Americans to do.

Also, they have the audacity to actually have more in common with our British forefathers and common law than many of us do here in the states.

They make me so mad.

No, he used someone else's identity with that persons permission. They are saying there should be a law against that, so that the other individual would get in trouble as well.

And you wonder why people don't like to be "witnesses"???? Couldn't BSO just turn their head on this one, leaving the man alone, since he is the ONLY person that came forward to speak???? Now WHAT DO YOU THINK OTHERS WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS WHO DID THIS ARE GONNA SAY....'UHHH, I'm GLAD I didn't talk and I know the KILLER'S FULL NAME & ADDRESS!!!!

WHAT A DUMB MOVE ON BSO'S BEHALF!!!!!!!

<<<"He was considered a valuable witness," de Moraes-Millan said. "The problem is my client was using someone else's identity ... with that person's permission.">>>

Oh, well. SInce he had the other person's permission to use their name, that makes all the difference in the world.#%$@&*% Lawyers! Maybe he ought to read the law books and see it's still a crime to hinder, obstruct or oppose any law enforcement officer. Witness or not. With the other persons permission of not.

This guy must not be a good lawyer if he doesn't realize that this "witness's" credibility became a major issue when he lied about his name. He lied about his name so what else is he lying about?

Your reading an article written by a reporter going mainly of comments made by a lawyer! I believe this article as much as I believe tha Obama didn't know what Rev. Wright was saying all those racist things.

Well, they kept him under wraps this long. Apparently, it was more important to the bro and his 'ho' to stay here illegally than help solve the murder of an officer. Just think, if he had been honest with the investigators right off, they most likely would have done everything to make sure he got to stay here.
He obviously knew something was wrong, he called 911. But imagine if he had just said, "Officer, I am here illegally and this is my real name".
Typical dumb***(fill in the blank here)

Poignant reply. I agree, most Jamaicans value system and culture in general fits better in America than the culture you find in trailer parks & ghettos you find in your own back yard.

They are deporting him because his is the only witness. This was an inside job, anybody who knows anything about BSO knows that sgt.'s do not perform routine plate checks in parking lots. The white car is another BSO brown vic. Sgt. Reyka was a legit cop, killed by the rest of the dirty BSO and now covered up by them.

It is against the law to use another's name. Period. With or without permission! He is being deported not just for that, but because he is a convict. And here illegally on a tourist visa that most likely expired.
And notice, the article says he did see the shooter, but ducked before he was seen.
Additional theory, just for kicks. Witness protection anyone? The people who shot the Deputy have no remorse or compunction against killing. If he/she knows there is a witness, what value do you place on said witness' life?
