A Deer Park man has been charged with aggravated first-degree murder and sexually violating human remains in the death of his ex-wife. Spokane County prosecutors brought the charges Thursday against 47-year-old Duane Starbuck in the death of his 42-year-old wife Chanin Starbuck.

SPOKANE, Wash. -- A Deer Park woman's phone call to 9-1-1 may not have saved her life but it did give detectives one of their best clues to the identity of Chanin Starbuck's killer.

That break in protocol was made by a long-term 911 call taker, according to a Spokane County news release.
