ISD Wars: Finding the best School District in Texas high school football
03/02/2009
By Travis Stewart/TexasFootball.
Ever wanted to know whether Houston ISD is a better football haven than Dallas ISD? What about San Antonio? Or Austin? Let's not forget the suburbs, too. Face it -- settling this debate is no idle task. So we've set about trying to find the answer.
We've taken the 20 largest school districts in the state and broken them up, bracket style, into four regions -- much like the high school playoffs. Each region contains five districts, all seeded one through five. The seeds are ranked, so the #1 seed in each region is the best, etc. Since each region has five teams, the fourth and fifth seed will have a play-in match, and then the competition will proceed in standard bracket style.
The first installment of the 2009 ISD Wars will highlight the first round play-in game between all of the #4 and #5 seeds. We'll have new installments every two days. If you have a question, comment or idea, just let us know. Enjoy, and may the best ISD win!
