A coalition of DeKalb's most prominent pastors said they are fed up with the county's negative image and will meet with DeKalb political leaders to discuss the recent spate of corruption cases against elected officials. The group, which calls itself Right Choice, represents 25 churches with a combined membership of 50,000.

Gov. Nathan Deal defended his education record from attacks by Democratic challenger Jason Carter Friday morning during a candidates forum in downtown Atlanta. The family of a Florida A&M University drum major who died after being hazed has reached a settlement with the owner of the bus on which the hazing took place. An attorney for the family of Robert Champion said Wednesday that he would file a motion this week dismissing the negligence lawsuit against Fabulous Coach Lines and a bus driver.

The Atlanta Police Department and Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta has increased the reward for information related to a double kidnapping and homicide which occurred in DeKalb and Fulton counties on Aug. 30. Atlanta police say that Capt. Paul Guerrucci will speak to the media at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday outside the Atlanta Public Safety Headquarters at 226 Peachtree Street.
