Brawl at Pepea s bar results in many arrests

City police officers responding to a noise complaint inside Pepe's bar on Sunday had to call for reinforcements after a violent mle erupted outside the Wahconah Street watering hole.

yup just a loud noise complaint until the cops arrived. Maybe a not so proffessional approach by the officers?- Maybe overserving by the establishment? Maybe what would have been just a man to man confrontation between 2 individuals that the cops should have just let beat the crap outta each other (do they still do that)and then let the cops pick them up, brush them off and send them on their way.

Seriously, Pittsfield needs somebody to return law and order to Pittsfield. Getting Ruberto out of office won't solve the problems. We're just exchanging one wimpy Democrat for another wimpy Democrat.
Real change will only come to Pittsfield with a change of party and not necessarily a Republican (that dreaded word to Mass. Residents), but maybe someone running on an Independent ticket who is tough on disorderly conduct. Democrats are simply TOO LENIENT on crime issues. |

How does THIS have anything to do with whoever the Mayor currently is? I'd take Jimmy in a bar fight as Poindexter already sounds like he was kicked in the nuts and stuffed in one too many lockers back in junior high. |

should stay Mayor but that's another subject. Someone from City Hall, Police Dept. and certainly the court house needs to recognize that the Pitt has truly become Cracfield and needs a heavy handed push to clean it up or it will be worthless in 5 years.

The cops acted in a totally appropriate manner. That bar needs to be shut down, permanently. The people involved should be punished for breaking the law. Blaming the mayor and the police for the immaturity of a bunch of drunks is nonsense. Put blame where it belongs and stop making excuses for a bunch of rowdy, drunken, brain dead pieces of drek.
Addendum; I don't like Ruberto at all, but am not going to blame him for a situation not of his creation. |

As I've explained before, 9/10th's of controlling a situation like this is psycholgical. I have walked into brawling bar rooms that were on the verge of riot and simply taken a seat and calmly watched the action..scanning the room and making sure the trouble makers realized they were being watched...very nonchalant..very cool. You would not believe how things cool down and I mean fast. Later you would here guys talking about how a squad of goons charged in and chased everyone off..yeah just me giving the look. The cops should train in this kind of tactic, they could send in one or two guys like me and avoid all the ballyhoo. |

I have been there a handful of times. I think the owner is a pretty nice guy. It is just the riff-raff that goes there. People have to be responsible for their actions. I am sure that one time or another most people have gone out for a few drinks incident free. It is how you are going to react to certain situations. |
