A 46-year-old Bend man is in a Midwest jail, accused of piloting a plane loaded with marijuana in a cross-country flight that was busted during an alleged delivery stop at an Illinois airport late last month.

Jeffrey Howard, 34, of 285 Maple Ridge Ct., Dahinda, Ill. was arrested at 2:01 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Second Street and Lincoln Avenue, said the University Police Department.
