Cuyahoga Falls police charge nursing home caregiver with stealing patient medication

Falls police have issued a warrant for Crystal L. Bentley, 29, of Tallmadge. She was charged with two counts of theft of drugs, a fourth-degree felony, after an administrator for a nursing home on Cathedral Lane reported she was found with packs of prescription medications belonging to two residents under her care.

National Weather Service confirms tornado touched down at Stow High School

The EF-0 tornado - the least severe tornado rating - touched down at the high school and damaged five homes while traveling about a half-mile northeast into the Qual Highlands neighborhood, according to the NWS. A Cuyahoga Falls man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for attempting to purchase a 10-year-old girl, said Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, and Stephen D. Anthony, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Robert W. Thomas, age 37, was found guilty earlier this year on three counts: offering to buy a child, enticement and receipt and distribution of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

A federal judge today sentenced a Cuyahoga Falls man to 30 years in prison for attempting to buy a 10-year-old girl who he intended to "train" to be his wife. Robert W. Thomas Jr., 37, was arrested in Alliance on Jan. 14 after he met the supposed seller of the child, who turned out to be an undercover Alliance police officer assigned to the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
