I am a upset north magoffin mother and fan. I have a child in the school system that doesnt play ball yet but I am not so sure I will let him play there. After seeing the Salyersville Eagles play they are far better athletes and very well coached. It is sad that we cant compete in any age group with them. I am seriously thinking about switching schools due to Salyersville's superior athletics.
I AM ALSO A PARENT OF A SOUTH MAGOFFIN STUDENT AND I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW THE SALYERSVILLE B&C TEAM CAN BEAT OUR A TEAM. THEY ARE RECRUITING AND PAYING BIG BUCKS TO DO IT. I WILL FIND OUT TO!
My goodness, their just kids. Get a grip!!!
I would be ashamed to come on here and say that that SGS pays big bucks to get good ball players. The coach and the boys put in a lot of time into this, that is why they stand out!! I feel bad for the other teams but don't go around spreading a bold face lie!! |
GROW UP! These are kids doing whatthey want to do! Play a game they enjoy. To->North Magoffin Fan:Stop Bitc#!ng about kids! If one school is better then congratulate them instead of downing the other kids from the other school. They are only kids!

B!tch, B!tch, B!tch!!!! People, I think you need to ask yourself~~~WHY, is my life so MISERABLE, that I have to go around talking about everybody and their dog. I mean, my goodness~~~~SHUT UP.
maybe because they get all their good ball players "boys and girls" to stay back a yr in 5th or 6th grade to play again. i dont think the school system should allow this. my child will never stay back just to play a sport. oh and if they stay back they get to choose the teacher they want for the yr and thats not far to other children!
Honey I think you have SGS confused with JCHS! You wanna see held back just for sports Just look at any of there sports especially boys basketball and football. Now thats a school that HOLDS BACK studentd simply for sports. |
| ||||
the reason for alot of the hold backs is because of the childs age not sports. sgs boys put alot of time into basketball dont down the kids for being good

I don't think those that are complaining are upset with the kids that play for SGS. There might be some questionable and unfair sports related ethics going on and that might be the upsetting part. Everyone that participates in sports, supporters, admin, coaches, officials all have a duty that not only is the game fun, but fair to all. Recruiting belongs only at the collegiate level; it does not need to trickle on down.
How many athletes on the SGS team are going to SGS, but live elsewhere in the county? |
I have a son that goes to s-ville and damn proud of it. I want him to be with the best program available athleticly and academically and I will make sure he gets that. All kids deserve it! Suck it up losers!!!!!!damn jealoust people
Here's a suggestion..since you child is so good at sports, why not skip the middle man and take him on to U.K. |
I know why there c team beats are a and b teams,,,its because some of the kids they play on that team are suppose to be in 6th grade.
They also practice all year long. From what I have heard sanford said he was not coaching next year because the board or the super is putting a stop to the extra practicing. I don't know about other parents but I have ther things to do besides go to practice all year long. If the other schools in the county took practicing to this extreme I am sure they would be as good as or better than SGS. I also know for a fact that sanford does RECRUIT the best players from the other schools,,at least he tries to recruit. Some parents would not do it. |

LOL
hey like the old saying goes " if you cant beat'em join'em maybe other schools should practice more.
i'd rather have my child at practice as playing video games all evening or gossiping on topix or something else useless. if u don't want your child to practice b-ball take them out of the game, don't gripe about someone trying to make them better.

luv ya!

There is not one player on the C team that should be in the 6th grade, get your facts straight before postng things about children!! |

I would just like to say that my son is a 4th grader in Magoffin County. His B Team played SGS B Team a couple of weeks ago. The SGS Coach used 5 boys who were held back to start this game. The boys should have been 6th graders. The SGS Coach played these boys for a good portion of the first part of the game.....he took them out and put in AGE APPROPRIATE players after the score was 32-0. The final score, without the 32 pts. made by older and bigger boys, would have been really fair. My sons team would have lost by 4 pts. With this being said, I would love to see a REAL game between SGS and my sons team.

This is a known fact. There are 3 sixth graders if not more that was held back to play ball. |
