A state investigator says the cause of a fire that destroyed three grain elevators in the small town of Craigmont earlier this month remains a mystery.

The week-old rubble left behind by a fire in Craigmont continued to smolder Monday according to authorities at the scene.

A fire was reported at the Columbia Grain warehouse complex at 2:25 p.m. Sunday.

With harvest season just around the corner, the devastating impact of the Craigmont fire can be felt most by those whose livelihoods were engulfed in the flames.

An early morning fire has destroyed two historic buildings in Mullan, Idaho. Fire crews responded to the fire just after 2am Tuesday morning at the Silver Eagle Bar and Union Hall.
