A large-scale praise and worship event, featuring groups and speakers from several Topeka-area churches, is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Gage Park Amphitheatre, near S.W. 6th and Gage.

Facing the pressure of a growing student population and a tight budget, the Newton School Committee Monday night approved new buffer zones that will work to give Countryside Elementary School some flexibility with its growing enrollment.

The School Committee tonight voted unanimously in favor of implementing new buffer zones to help reduce the population at Countryside Elementary School.
