Two WAVE Awards given to local Santa Cruz video producer
Local video artist, and Cabrillo College video teacher, Denise Gallant, co-produced, shot, and edited
the CreaTV “One Year Anniversary Spot” which won the Western Access Video Excellence Award
in the Professional Program/Channel Promo Category on Saturday night at the WAVE Awards Ceremony
in Reno, Nevada.
Denise has been producing multiple spots for the new station, CreaTV, San Jose, along with Executive Director, Suzanne St. John-Crane, who was, most recently, a local Watsonville resident.

Denise was also the editor and effects director of the children’s program “Don’t Throw That Away”, produced by Lisa Rosenthal-Lee who won in the Professional Educational Access category. The program was produced out of the Community Media Center of Santa Rosa, and edited at the Video 4 studio in Corralitos.

The WAVE Awards – the Western Access Video Excellence Awards – are an opportunity for community
media producers to showcase their best work in the Alliance for Community, Western Region's six states:
Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada and New Mexico.

Denise and her husband, Kevin Monahan, work from their video studio in Corralitos,
Video4, where they have produced many award-winning videos. Many of Denise’s students also work at the CTV in Santa Cruz, who also won multiple WAVE awards this year.
