The size of the wild mustang herd on the northern tip of North Carolina's Outer Banks would be larger under a new measure in the U.S. Congress.

Kelly's Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern is once again hosting the 23rd annual Kelly's St.

State education officials will discuss the applications Wednesday for nine new charter schools - including one proposed for Corolla - but aren't expected to give final approval to any of them yet.

One is by land and one is by sea, and both are markedly different than the Expressway, which is basically a portion of Raleigh's Outer Loop used mainly by commuters.

Surely, anyone with an iota of common sense would give it up when surrounded by at least three police vehicles , right? Well, maybe most people but not Alexandra Osteyee-Hoffman. The 28-year old North Carolina woman tried not once, but three times to escape from the police last Friday.

Planned for more than 20 years, bridge construction is expected to begin near the end of this year and be open to traffic in 2017.

Corolla residents have cleared a major hurdle in their quest to open a charter school there, but are holding off breaking out the champagne to celebrate.
