Sure hope we don't see the city paying for Byrne's defense, fines etc.

Sounds like Byrne should have just stayed home.

If the district attorney files this case it will be laughed out of court and i'll gladly be present to watch the circus. GET REAL. A whimpish 40 year old feels insulted by a finger poke in the chest. Just another tactic by prather to bring attention to his (yard)weed selling businesses.I feel sorry for the officer who had to write the citation and waste his time writing a report. If he has a sense of humor it would well worth reading the report.

there's no need to touch someone in a negative or condescending manner while having a discussion. there's plenty of other ways to get your point across.

I'm embarrassed to live in a city where a citizen excuting his right to free speech is physically assaulted by an elected official.

Most with common sense would think that pointing a finger or tapping someone on the chest would be that an individual was trying to get a point across.
If you were going to assault you would nail the individual and put his lights out. Have a great day

Perhaps Mr. Byrne is farsighted and didn't know how close his finger was...or maybe he was sleep-pointing...

I was at the meeting and he did appear to be sleeping. Mr. Prather made a comment to the board just like other people that was there did about him sleeping. When they took a break Mr. Prather was in the hall and went to appolize to Mr. Bryne and Mr. Bryne started poking him in the chest calling him names telling him he hated him. My thoughts on this as a city offical he should not react like this after all he is suppost to be there for the best of the city. I feel that at his age he should not be on the council he should be home in bed at that time of night. He was in the wrong by even touching another person in that way ane Mr. Prather did what most anyone else would have done, I know I would of.

wow, I served my country after being born and raised in RB to see this?!?! No wonder people are leaving this state by the droves. Honestly, asking for a citizens arrest for a poke to the chest?

Now, don't get me wrong, the city council member should have acted as a representative, not one of the stereotypes of an ignorant redneck (which is a common one in RB).

But really? seriously? If this is newsworthy, then I guess my BM this morning is as well. its time for the RBDN to screen their articles, and for adults to act like adults. If the pot smokers and growers have a state law that allows them to grow and sell legally, let em do it. hey here's a thought, why not tax it and help pay for the teachers salary in the school districts? WOW, common sense, economics, and thinking outside the box.. that's a change for RB for sure!

You sound like someone who can't keep their hands to themselves. Don't we teach our children this is wrong? My theory is that I have a two foot box around me and you do not step inside that box in any way shape or form unless you are invited there. Touch me and I will have you arrested too.

Did all the potheads (aka stoners) fail to note that Mr Byrne was the only member who voted AGAINST the ban?

Instead of stringing him up on a rope you should be tossing flowers at his feet.

I've contacted my people across the state and in Nevada and Oregon. We hope to have at least 1000 plus at the next meeting. I've also contacted media and a few 'other' organizations that have a substantial membership inviting them to attend as well.

Hopefully the weather will be on our side too.

Our law enforcement in this county does an excellent job in very trying times from what I see.
Individuals who flaunt and break the laws deserve the bracelets or maybe it would be more enjoyable for them to take a long walk off a short bridge over the grand canyon. My
opinion of course. Have a great lawful day.
