Wow. Shooting dogs in a pen. They were certainly a threat to the public. NOT! Isn't this how Dennis Rader got his rocks off? You remember him? He's the one who shot people's dogs....then Bound, Tortured, and Killed (BTK Killer) people. What the heck was this Jim Gronings thinking? Mayor's orders? How about "no, I'm not going to murder dogs caged in a pen with my shotgun"?

that is why we need clear laws on animal abuse not overdoing it like keep ur cat on a leash but more defined. the only reason this is getting so much attention is becouse he was a a police chief. ppl do this all the time we call make compliants to the police and sheriff dept but no results. the humane society is suppose to be here for that reason to help animals of all kind but there so unorganized. they only help the DOGS that recter dog catcher gets and thats about it. they say they do more but taking one dog from an individual every 6 mnths dont cut it they dont cut it there is more to the county than just recter and maybe some of piggott depends on who you are.

first of all the dogs were rabid and by city law they must be put down immediatly by whatever means neccesary second dewayne did not tell groning to shoot them groning decided to pull the trigger himself third the vet was not in town so they had to act swiftly fourth the reason why the pictures were on the news is becuase the person who took them has animosity towards groning otherwhise why else would he turn the pictures in this is all a conspiracy to destroy our city leaders reputation

you people are over reaccting. these animals had all the symtoms of reibes and were attacking each other. they said they were afraid to euthanize them because it might have been dangerous for the doctor. would you send a vet into a pen with rabid dogs? really. you should be more concerned how safe it was to enter their pen than how the dogs died. you keep saying that its inhumane to shoot dogs. im sure they died very quickly. faster than if they had allowed they reibes thaht they DEFINENTLY had to kill them.

If the dogs were rapid then why did they just bury them? I thought they were supposed to have them tested. I don't think they had rabies at all, I think they just had some stray dogs they wanted to get rid of. Even if they did have rabies they didn't handle things the way the law says to.

The mayor lied about all of this as usual but this time an outsider called him out and caught him. This is about the breaking of laws but also about lising the public trust.

Um, I'm calling "BS". First, your spelling and grammar is atrocious. Second, rabies can only be confirmed thru postmortem exam. Third, any human with any scrap of human emotion would have shown those horrible pictures to anyone who could possibly do anything to hold this person accountable. A conspiracy, my third-grade friend would imply that the constable shot these caged dogs knowing he was being photographed, hence "a conspiracy". One brave person with a camera is not a conspiracy. What is your stake in all this?

It was not "one" brave person with a camera.
It was a horrible old woman with vengeance on her mind. You can call it whatever you want. She used the dog catcher to her advantage. She knew full well in advance what was about to take place. She could have called for assistance. And if she feared for her job as you have said, she knows these types of calls can be made anonymously. Did she even attempt that? NO! Because that was not in her master plan. She did exactly what she intended. You call her brave, I call her a coward!

Doesn't the vet usually have to examine all reported cases of rabies in the county?

Where is the vet report that confirms these dogs had rabies?

That would shut everyone up. Prove your case. I don't think that Ginger would lie about it.

I heard she was called after the fact. Too much is going around about this, and it is hard to discern what is truth and what is falsehood. I can't believe Cheif Groning has threatened his own employees over this. I thought better of him than that. But I also thought better of the city in this day and age to be more humane. I at first thought, what's everyone making such a big deal about some dogs with rabies? Because if a dog showed up at my house with something apparently wrong with it like rabies I would do something about it. But the more that I hear, the more disallusioned I become with what has happened. I agree with just asking. What does Ginger have to say about this? But is that putting her in a position of opposing people in authority because in this county, that can mean a miserable existence.
