Gene T. Burkett, of rural Cornell, will celebrate his 85th birthday. He was born May 15, 1928, in rural Cornell, to Earl and Maimie Burkett.

Marion E. "Boots" Larson, 82, of Cornell, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Evenglow Health Center in Pontiac.

A warrant has been issued for a man who is believed to be involved in a string of crimes through Grundy, La Salle and Livingston counties.
