One Knott County school closed Thursday due to illness
School officials shut down a Knott County school today due to an illness. Cordia Elementary and High School had its first day of school Wednesday, but students weren't allowed in the building Thursday due to precautionary measures.
Ex-Cat Rodrick Rhodes new Cordia coach
Cordia High School principal Charles Jones said Thursday that former University of Kentucky basketball player Rodrick Rhodes has been named the school's boys' basketball coach.Cordia, located in Hazard, has about 120 students in grades 9-12."His plans are to be in Eastern Kentucky as soon as next Friday," Jones said.
