I don't see what the big deal is? Let's please not forget all the GOOD the Copperopolis Fire department has does for the community and surrounding areas! We feel it is wonderful that they are a close bunch and stick together as a group... like a family! That just shows better teamwork and when its time to save lives and help fight fires that teamwork will come in extra handy!! Makes us disappointed that people try so hard to help others, such as these BRAVE fireman do, only to get punished for something so small and petty! Let's focus on real crime people!
Thanks for all your hard dedication, Copper Fire Fighters! We appreciate it and your ALL doing a great job! Keep up the good work!!! Best Regards, Your Friendly Neighbors |

Shouldn't all the scrutiny be....why was a 20 year old individual inside a bar.....not whether, an all in good fun prank was played on him by fellow co-workers? Come on people....lets concentrate on actual law violations instead of disgruntled past employees complaints!

I am so upset with the very idea that our 2 engines would be involved in a "party" instead of being on duty. I am tired of having to pay the extra money for these "hard working" Copper Fire Fighters !! I do not disagree that firemen work hard, but these "boys" are very lucky that no one (especially the groom) was hurt during this stupid prank. Why hasn't anyone been put on administrative leave for this stupidity? I'll tell you why, because board members were it nvolved in it, in fact they are the father of the groom. They thought it was funny. As a nurse and a mother, I don't find it funny and I feel that someone higher than the board should be looking in to this and make some people answer for it.

Something small and petty huh? An underage off duty firefighter at the bar along with being drunk in public with his father/employer Copper Fire Board of Director who contributed to the delinquency of a minor. Not good. Fire district uncovered for any type of emergency along with extended response times while these Brave fireman were off goofing around at the bar. Not good. Policies and procedures ignored by hitting an individual in the face with a straight stream of water from a fire hose which could have possibly caused blindness from sediments and other chemicals found in their water tank. Not good. I think you need to rethink your opinion Friendly Neighbor. The liability this Fire District put itself in is inexcusable.
