Dr. Paul Ustach, San Joaquin Delta College Biology Professor, will discuss the natural history and behavior of both the grizzly and American black bear at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Oak Grove Regional Park's Nature Center, 4520 W. Eight Mile Road, Stockton.

The Saddle Creek Garden Club in Copperopolis will hold its annual garden tour from 1 to 4 p.m. June 2. Five unique gardens are featured in the tour.

A Washington Air National Guardsman from Copperopolis will receive a Silver Star for his heroism in a 13-hour battle last year in which he helped repel an ambush by more than 200 Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan, the Air National Guard announced last week.
