Suffolk opens a beach, closes lake to bathing

Suffolk County has reopened Tanner Park Beach but closed Lake Ronkonkoma in Islip to bathing Humayun J. Chaudhry, the Suffolk health commissioner, announced Thursday that the beach closure issued for Tanner Park Beach in Copiague has been rescinded after water tested within acceptable levels.

Is it just me or is anybody else concerned that our waters are so polluted?

Seems to me that government isn't protecting our health. No, they are endangering it because they are failing to prevent the pollution from happening inthe first place.

The scary part is that the Lake, Bay and Sound were much more polluted. But despite great efforts, even today they are still bad off.

When are you actually going to get mad enough to solve a problem people?
