Monroe bank shows improvement
Monroe Bank and Trust continues to show signs it has fully turned the corner from a recession-fueled rough patch, with BauerFinancial Inc. again upgrading its ranking of the bank. In its most recent report, Florida-based Bauer gave Monroe Bank and Trust a rating of 3½ stars, up from its previous ranking of three stars.

Fatal crash occurs south of Kalida
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two vehicle fatal crash involving a commercial vehicle that occurred on Sept. 3 at approximately 5:22 a.m. The crash occurred on SR 115 near Road M in Union Township in Putnam County.
