Farmington River Watershed Association Looks To Restore Historic Spawning Grounds
Can the alewife and the shad return to their historic spawning grounds on the upper Farmington River? The Farmington River Watershed Association hopes to answer that question this year as it considers proposals from engineering firms to redesign two old dams that now block the species from returning to their traditional breeding areas.
