A Dry Prong man was killed and three teens injured Saturday in a single-vehicle crash on La. Highway 1241 near Prospect, according to State Police reports. Ethan Michael Catteruccia, 21, of Prospect was the passenger of a 2007 Dodge Charger and was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Authorities responded to the crash around 2:45 a.m. The driver of the Charger, a 17-year-old female from Pineville, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Two additional passengers, a 17-year-old from Colfax and a 16-year-old from Pineville, received moderate injuries and were also transported to Rapides Regional. The driver was heading south on La. 1241 at a high rate of speed when she lost control and exited the left side of the roadway before the vehicle overturned several times, police said. Authorities said the driver was wearing her seatbelt, and Catteruccia was not wearing his seatbelt. Alcohol use is a suspected factor in the crash, police said. Routine toxicology tests are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.
