Wildfires Force Hundreds To Evacuate
Hundreds of Florida residents were forced from their homes after wind whipped wildfires swept through a section of Central Florida.
Forestry officials say dry conditions combined with high winds and temperatures are expected to help fuel several fires in Volusia and Brevard on Monday.
More than 500 homes in the northwestern part of Daytona Beach have been evacuated as a precaution. Hundreds more homes in neighboring Brevard County are also under evacuation.
A pair of fires burning in Cocoa Beach has been contained, according to forestry workers but a fire in Malabar has grown to 2,100 acres and continues to threaten homes. Read more
