along with big bill boards that say don't drink and drive there should be huge ones that also say don't drink and go in the water don't drink enough to lose control. This was a big eye opener just wish my children and family or I hadn't seen this happen. Yes may the Lord help Matthew his Mom and his family now and always

Cloverdale is a very small town where everyone pretty much knows everyone. Though I didn't get to know Matt as well as others. I can say that he was always very nice. Just like everyone else in his family. So sad to see what can happen with an innocent activity with family and friends. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the entire Arreguin Family!

No, but other articles did:
Press Democrat: "Arreguin had been camping at the lake with his family, Smallcomb said. Alcohol had been consumed during the gathering but it was unclear Monday how much Arreguin had consumed, Smallcomb said."

It does no good to put blame on anyone. I wish that this didn't happen it is such a horrible accident. I am Matthew's cousin and want to say that he was a great guy. He was always very attentive to his family and friends. He has a beautiful lil girl who is very lucky to have had a great daddy and great grandparents who love her very very much. I am also very lucky to have had him as a cousin. I will miss him. Tio Raul and Tia Kathy, we love you very much and Matthew will always be in our hearts!!!

Matt and I were classmates since elementary school, graduating in the same class. He was a very nice man, from a very nice family, who knew how to make everyone laugh. To his parents, Raul and Kathy, my deepest condolences goes out to you and your family. Matt will be missed dearly and will forever be in our hearts.

For those of you with such little class to leave comments like this...you should be ashamed. A life of a father, son and great friend was taken and for you to leave a comment like this only shows your lack of courtesy and compassion. TO those friends who were that day I say this- it is NOT your fault, a tragedy has happened and remember it is the Lords will thattakes our loved ones from us. It is important that you block out such ignorance like some of these comments and focus on Matts life. Celebrate Matt, write down your memories of him for his daughter and truly know he is with the Lord now. God Bless Matts family and friends, I am praying for all of you. MUCH LOVE to all of you, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was an awful day for everyone who was there. I feel awful that we had to witness it and I send my thoughts and prayers to the family. Unfortunately they were drinking alot and my children learned an awful lesson that day watching what alchol can do. The poor man who pulled him out cried for hours- he did everything he could do as well as his girlfriend who did CPR. Everyone did everything they could do to save him. May God Bless his family and friends.

This was such a tragedy. My dad was one of the few trying to save his life by performing CPR. Thank God for people like him. Our friends and family all wondered if he had children or a wife . I send my deepest condolences to all of his family and friends.
Thank You

I want to take a second to thank the many people who tried to help Matt out. Matt was a great person, who leaves behind many good friends, a great family and a beautifull daughter.
Again, Thank You

Thanks for the thoughful comment, although we never got the chance to meet Matt I can tell you on behalf of the group that pulled him out of the water and did everything they could for him, a part of him will be with us forever. I have tears now as I think about him and those he left behind. My thoughs and prayers continue to reach out to his family and friends during such a diffulcult time. May peace be with you all...
