At least 16 post office locations in the Lake area could be affected by the U.S. Postal Service's proposed downsizing plan.The plan was announced last week, and described as "a new strategy that could keep the nation's smallest Post Offices open for business," would cut back operating hours from eight to six, four and even two hours a day in some ... The Mid County Fire Protection District is looking for volunteers. The MCFPD covers a 224 mile area from rural Linn Creek, including most of Roach, Greenview, Montreal and Decaturville.

Carolyn J. Sutherlin, 70, of Climax Springs, formerly of Sedalia, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at Lake Regional Health Center in Osage Beach.
