I do believe the sticker will bring lots of money in from all over but most of the monies would probably come from the fisherman, who come here for the tournaments. I know it has been up for discussion before but maybe someone should look into spending the monies made to build a BOAT WASH or wash down station at each side of the lake and every boat that enters the lake has to go through the BOAT WASH first. I do see lots of boats after leaving the lake at the CAR WASH washing off their boats. This too can easily pay for itself and help save our lake.

I feel this is a very poor way to handle a very important problem. It appears to be a way to generate funds and nothing more.
Many people (such as myself) come to the lake for day and weekend use. with limited amount of time at the lake, we are going to spend much of that time trying to get a cable tie. and then spending money on this tie for day use, then if the inspector isn't satisfied, you have to go to another inspector? clear lake is not known for it's streamline proccesses through the city council. out of frustration, boaters will probably start going to other lakes just to skip the hassel, then the restarants and other businesses along the lake suffer. How about a hot water pressure washer on site so the owners can rinse them down and use hot water to flush the engine compartment while on the trailer? even if the clams arn't seen, the hot water will kill the offspring? this is just a sugesstion, but the city councils way looks to be a money generator and nothing more. good luck John |

What about our tubes, canoes, pedal boats, etc?How will these be handled? They are subject ot fines as well. Where will the loop be? I keep my boat in my garage in the keys since the water & algae is so hard on it. It is registered out of Lake county since I don't get mail at my house there due to no delivery by postal service, and frequency of stayin g at the house, Will I be required to always get a new loop?. Also what about the private and public launch ramps no monitored.

What about lures? I saw a flyer from the visitor center that showed a lure with 3 or 4 mussels attached to it. OK, I'm off to fill in the low spots in my backyard before some eco-lunatic says they see fairy shrimp...

The type of vessels requiring inspection will not change. The vessels you questioned about above all need inspections, if from out of county. As fo your boat stored at your house in The Keys, there is an affidavit you can fill out that will qualify the boat for Lake County use only, since it is stored here for use at Clear Lake. Boats kept at local marinas and dry berths for use here only, although registered out of county, qualify for the local decal. |
||||
Nope, that's changed. kayaks, inner tubes and all towables will not need to be screened (and therefore not need the new bands). I think it's gotta have a Lake County registration in order to qualify for the local "pass". |

And as usual we're all stuck speculating on what should have been clearly printed out by our local "journalists".
Like everything else run by these progressives...hurry up and do something that makes money, with enviorment catastropy of some sort, then let's see if we ruined the economy, then change the problem. First it was Global Warming, then...Climate Change, when will we be back to good old there's this thing called Seasons, and there are four of them, and the weather varies between the four, and with no real consistency or predictability. I've got an idea lets name them Winter(cold), Spring(warmer), Summer(hot), Fall(cooler)...but that's not as scary, and is logical. Besides with Barry and Pelosi cutting off the farmers water from the Sac River, well, we'll just be drained more and faster every year by Yolo County, then sold down stream....another thanks to Lake County BOS'ers. |

By the way that Sac River, issue is over a stinkin minnow/baitfish. Watch your prices rise on tomatoes, lettuce. There are 60-100 year old orchards that are dead all up and down I-5.
Some of us have seen what happens when idiots open their mouths, like with the mercury scare, that ruined the Lakes tourist business, and turned out, after millions of dollars, to be no different than any other lake on the planet, let alone Califoridiots. |

The best comment I have read! |

What a great revenue producing idea! Why gee how long will it take a Bass Fisherman to get fed up with "inspections?" However the Police will be able to find any number of items to arrest and ticket people for..what good time fun! Think of all the yucks the Police will get while rifling through people's person belongings! Yes a good time will be had by all in this extravaganza of bureaucratic bologna! Yehaw! Why don't attract business and tourism keep up the pace and pretty soon all there will be left are cops taking turns ticketing and arresting each other..what fun!

I like the "Each Other" part. It's long over due.
