The New York wine industry is booming. According to the New York Wind and Grape Foundation, five million people visit New York wineries every year.

Spring means life on St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands is coming back to life.

A number of attractions in the 1,000 Islands region of New York are opened or will be opening in the coming weeks, including Boldt Castle, Singer Castle and a new tour to the Rock Island Lighthouse.

Watertown police charged Brandon T. Thompson, 25, of 11385 Circle Drive, Chaumont, with first-degree robbery, petit larceny, second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon at 11:42 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of Newell Street in Watertown.
