Three charged in Newcomb murder
PERSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Chase City man reported missing by his family early last week was found dead on Friday in Caswell County, N.C. Law enforcement officials say they are investigating the case as a homicide and one female has been arrested and two other persons were arrested on related charges.

Swine Flu suspected in school
MECKLENBURG COUNTY — A Mecklenburg County student may have the Swine Flu, according to officials. The school system and the local health department indicate that the student is suspected to have a mild case of Influenza A, of which Swine Flu is a strain. Officials are urging others to continue to protect themselves by practicing safe personal hygiene.

Searchers find local doctor’s body in water

MECKLENBURG COUNTY - A two-day search for a well-known South Hill physician ended Tuesday morning with the discovery of his body in a creek where he had apparently been fishing, officials said.
