Giving undeserved grades in Atlanta public schools is not new. They have been doing it for decades. Many B students in high school make Fs in their first year of college. Some B students take remedial courses and still make Fs. Atlanta gets educational funds from the city, from the county, from the state, and from the federal government and still has the worst students in most of the state. Money doesn't compensate for the attitude that students and parents bring from home. It's only cool to be cool and it's not cool to be a high achiever. It's only cool to 'get by' and don't let the system tell you what to do or how to think. Another handicap is the defective gene pool that keeps Atlanta students at the bottom half of the intelligence scale to match their parents. Atlanta schools will never improve until the makeup of the student body changes and that is decades away. Look no farther than Clayton County that used to have a very good school system. Morrow City schools were tops in the state. Atlanta residents moved in mass to Clayton County to take minimum wage jobs at Southlake Mall and surrounding shopping centers. Their children displaced the existing student body and school performance plunged. Where did this new population come from? Atlanta!

Atlanta spends more money per student than any other school system in the state and yet gets some of the worst results in student performance.
Another City of Atlanta failure to match their budget collapse, Grady Hospital's financial crisis, the city jail fiasco, a half billion dollar shortage in city pension funds, mass convention cancellations, Atlanta Falcons plans for a new stadium OUTSIDE the city, high city crime rate, Atlanta water authority mismanagement and budget shortages. All these failures under shirley franklin.

Even Sonny Perdue can't save the City of Atlanta. They're too far gone.

i Can trace the majority of my problems to one event. Failing the third grade, you never recover from that. The pain of seeing everyone advance and you left behind is a daily humiliation that you cannot escape and can not deny, a daily reminder that you're not as good as everyone else. repeating is too much to bear.

My teacher should have known, must have known, the answers were correct but the numbers were reversed. I hope that bitch rots in hell. 45 years after the fact she remains the only human being i truly hate, i would spit in her face if i saw her today.

Social promotion isn't the best solution but it's better then destroying a kid.

Your writing skill is stuck at about the 5th grade level. Apparently you received social promotions from then on. Your capitalization, sentence structure, and organization are definitely elementary school level and no better. As far as the math scores from 3rd grade that you complain about... I have a feeling that you failed across the board and that one particular math test was the only inkling you ever had of much broader failures. You're probably the guy they pulled off that bridge yesterday and you failed at that too.

Daily Horoscope for November 16

Sagittarius

Take time out to renew your spirit as today's New Moon stimulates the need to spend some time in self-healing. The darkest hour is often before the dawn, but some of the best dreams take place in the wee hours before you wake. Allow yourself to dream wild, brilliant, 'I don't think we are in Kansas any more' kinds of dreams.
