Norman K. McDanel, 82, Clarendon, Pa., and formerly of Elwood City and New Castle, Pa., passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Warren Manor.
Probation violation. The Warren County Adult Probation Department reported that on Friday, with the assistance fron Warren City police, officers arrested Tara Connell-Nulph, 24, of 204 W. Third St., Warren, on a supervisor's warrant, on charges of violation of probation.

The Warren County playground program is ready to open next week. Travis Hummel, the Warren County recreation director, said county playgrounds will open Monday, June 22 at Clarendon, Starbrick, North Warren, Tidioute, Russell and Scandia.

The Warren County Commissioners are eye-balling federal stimulus funds. During their meeting Wednesday morning, the commissioners approved a resolution to apply for Community Development Block Grant funds and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds.

Burglary. Brandon Watson, 23, 13 Crestmont Dr., reported to Warren-based state police that between 8:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday someone removed approximately $60 in cash and a pill bottle containing 26 Oxycontin tablets from his bedroom.
DUI. According to Warren-based state police, Nicholas A. Tomassoni, 31, of Warren, was pulled over for a traffic violation at 3 a.m. Sunday on 2nd Ave.
Memorial Day service set in Ludlow
The annual Memorial Day service will be held Monday at 11:15 a.m. at the Gibbs Hill Cemetery near Ludlow.
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania will hold a mobile food pantry for residents of Clarendon, Tiona, Sheffield and the surrounding areas who are in need of food assistance on Saturday, May 23, starting at 10 a.m. The mobile food pantry will be held at the Vet's Club Reception Hall which is located on 22 Brown Avenue, Clarendon.
Burglary/theft. According to Warren-based state police, Alan P. Thwing, of 35 Brown Ave., Clarendon, reported that sometime between February 13 and May 15 someone entered his garage and removed a red 2-ton Larin Engine Lift, a black Coleman Power Mate air compressor and a Lincoln arc welder.
