Clairton City Council Meets Over Pit Bull Problem

My friend who lives in Clairton have been breeding his Pitt Bull for over the last 5yrs because he says he could make over a $1,000 because he sells his dogs between $150-200 per dog it all depends how the Pitt Bull looks. he also tells me that the bigger the Pitt Bulls head is the more money he could get for it. he told me he breeds this type of dogs because it is a real good money maker because every "Thug and Wanta be thug" want to have that imange, just last year he offerd to give me one for free. but i refuse becaue i just don't have the time to take car of a dog

I witnessed the shooting of the pitbull in clairton , my hats off to the police who did an excellent job in handling the situation because if they were not around I would have been forced to shoot that dog myself because he was a threat to the public as he ran wild through my neighborhood

Hey yea it's a good money maker, what the hell ever happened to GETTING A JOB? Claiton needs to get rid of the section 8 and drugs and the dog problem will follow. This is a no brainer.

u got people who cant take care of kids let alone dogs. thats how they live though. we all pay for it with welfare taxes.

The Animal Shelters across the country say that a strong number or majority of the dogs they have are pitbull types. More people are breeding dogs and getting less money for them. They can't take care of them or don't want certain head shapes or coat colors or even teeth length OR are evicted and the dogs end up in shelters. Now, more shelters are losing funding and unable to care for them. Dogs get dumped on neighboring shelters which then can't afford to take anymore. The dogs get euthanized or regular people shoot them or drown them. The situation is out of hand and can't go on like this before legislation bans most people from breeding dogs or even having them, regardless of whether we are good animal owners or not.
