I'm confused over this article. Why are the police confused over the girls description? Has the girl not been reported missing?

And what is a "Cat Car" or "Cat Call"?

What does this mean?

>Police "Cat Car" or "Cat Call."

Is that part of a plate number or something painted on the car, or?
Huh

I just went and looked on Chan 3, Chan 13 & 58 and SacBee websites and there is nothing anywhere about this incident.

Everything said here is exactly what I was thinking...this makes no sense. It's as if someone called and said something and the news just threw it up for the sake of being the first to report on it...the details are f-ed quite frankly. If this is all true, I hope this child is found, and ok.

Seems somebody screwed up when they cut n pasted.
The sentence should have read:
"Police say a witness reported the suspect vehicle plate to be "Cat Car" or "Cat Call"".
Pretty bad proofing there WebGuru!

Something strange is going on. I just checked out the CHP's website to see if an Amber Alert was issued and they don't even say anything. Hmmm...something is just not right.

Well since this report has had us all baffled, the only thing I've done was try to find info othewr than this slop! Well I've found it, check out SAc Bee.com , um I think I found it under local news.. but its there, so far all the police have to go off of is a report made to an apartment manager from a group of kids who witnessed the scene, they did not know the girl being taken so.......... hope this at least informs you some until we hear an update

Here's a little more info from the Bee:

"The girl is described as about 5-feet-tall with a thin build and dark hair that was pulled back in a ponytail. She was wearing a green T-shirt and black jeans.

Two men in the car are described as Latinos in their 20s. The driver had dark, curly hair and he was wearing a white tank top, Boettger said. His passenger had dark, spiked hair and he was wearing a black T-shirt.

Their car was described as a red convertible with a black top, possibly a Mustang or a Chrysler Sebring. Its had whitewall tires with distinctive silver rims and lettering with two words that started with a C."
