La. company recalling thousands of pounds of stew
ACROSS MISSISSIPPI - Acadian Fine Foods LLC of Church Point, La., is recalling 17,000 pounds of pork and chicken stews because labels don't list whey and soy as ingredients.
Lafayette paralegal in hot water
According to booking records, Michelle D. Lavergne, 35, of Church Point was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and charged with one count of forgery and felony theft.

The agency says the single-serving stews were distributed to stores in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

9 arrested in child predator investigation
Agents with the Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force have arrested nine men, including a Church Point man, as part of an undercover investigation targeting child predators across southern Louisiana.
