GRACEVILLE - Black caps and flowing gowns filled The Baptist College of Florida assembly center May 11, marking an historic day in the life of the college.

The North Bay Clan of the Lower Muscogee Creek Indian Pow Wow concludes today, May 27, at 5 p.m. The event is being held at 1560 Lonnie Road just off Highway 77 between Chipley and Wausau.

The North Bay Clan of the Lower Muscogee Creek Nation is hosting its annual powwow in Washington County from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1560 Lonnie Road, off State 77 between Chipley and Wausau.

The Washington County Tourist Development Council may have just found a new member, but it also might be losing another member due to attendance.

"We determined that a vacant home on the north side of Chipley had been burglarized," said Police Chief Kevin Crews.

GRACEVILLE - The Baptist College of Florida in Graceville will hold commencement exercises May 11 at 10 a.m. for 65 seniors who have completed all of the requirements to earn their degree.

The Ward 1 seat is currently held by Karen Rustin and the Ward 4 seat is held by Mayor Linda Cain, according to the city website.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of a Chipley man for lewd and lascivious conduct on a victim less than 12 years of age.

Drivers from Las Cruces, New Mexico and Tallahassee, Florida died this morning in a traffic crash near Chipley in Washington County.

A fatal head-on collision was reported early Monday morning on I-10 just west of Chipley according to the Florida Highway Patrol website.
