Prescott Valley police late Thursday night arrested the owner of a vehicle that contained what officers initially thought was an improvised explosive device. Officers booked Chino Valley resident Andrew Goodall, 22, into Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde on suspicion of one count of felony misconduct involving weapons after he turned himself into police.

Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 23-year-old man suspected in a string of vehicle burglaries in Paulden, Inscription Canyon, Chino Valley and the Pine Lakes subdivision just outside of Prescott. Sheriff's deputies booked Jeremiah Kennedy into the Camp Verde jail on charges of presenting a forged instrument, possession of drug paraphernalia and nine counts of burglary.

Dave Shaul, a Phoenix transplant who moved to Chino Valley in summer 2002, learned the value of service to others during a lengthy career in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. "That is one of the things that we were taught in the Army: to take care of others," Shaul said. "When you are out in the middle of Afghanistan, you are out there with your buddies."
