Firefighters battled a house fire in the bitter cold Tuesday evening. The blaze forced two people from their home.

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, four local fire companies responded to the fire at 632 Layton Road, South Abington Township, which started on the second floor of the home and spread to the attic area, according to Assistant Chief Sean Connolly of the Chinchilla Hose Company.

Firefighters are responding to an attic fire at 632 Layton Road, called in just before 7 p.m. As they arrived there were flames showing and part of the attic was engulfed.
