Tree 'hit-and-runs' upset residents
Residents are frustrated as trees on their property -- some more than 100 years old -- are being tagged with spray paint and cut down without prior approval.

What a stupid thing to say, you are a land raper too.
My brother has 40 acres in Concow, and the P.G.&.E crews cut down a lot of trees without his permission. They wrecked the land, the mess they made would have been much harder to clean-up if the work was done by real Arborists. He was there when it happened, he confronted them, it was done by a all Mexican/non- english speaking crew of chainsaw wielding idiots, not trained Arborists. They sent a P.G.&.E supervisor who helped them out in a very big way. He apologized, and had the crew of beaners, buck and stack all the cut trees, and had a dozer come in and plow a landing pad for future clean-up ease. The crews are cutting down trees and leaving them where they lay, creating a bigger problem for land owners in the future. |

Also,
the people marking the trees were two very young guys in a small white pick-up, Arizona tags, with a company logo I didn't recognize, driving down the road and stopping randomly and spraying trees slated for removal. The decision of what trees to cut was made on the spot by these fellows. They could be highly trained Arborists, with years of experience making these decisions, and all the trees marked needed to be cut down. They looked to be in their 20's, and were having a good time it seemed. |

PG&E sucks. If they near my property they will get an ass-full.

No trees, no fires.

There are pretty good mortality guidelines available to determine which conifer trees are viable after a fire. The crucial part is not the green canopy but rather the cambium just under the bark. The cambium is the actively growing tissue that adds diameter increases to the main stem on an annual basis. If the cambium, which starts below ground level and runs all the way up the tree, is killed, the tree has been killed, regardless of the crown appearance.

I think it is another example of how this country is truely changing to one with a completly overbearing government. Since when does PG&E or anyone for that matter have the right to enter private property and start hacking???? It is a wonder that no one has been shot creeping around one someone elses land.Especially after all the stress we've been under due to the fires.

no trees + heavy rains= loose soils and possible flooding/mudslides. |

1 Concow residents file class action lawsuit against P G and E, Cal-Fire and any other deep pocket they can find, for failure to remove dangerous fire-damaged trees. You can't win with these people. And the ER is simply taking the "dirty laundry" road, habitually failing to present both sides of these types of stories, and further failing to moderate the profane, racist, hateful and inapropriate comments made on these forums in any efficient or timely manner. So, to the trained professionals doing your jobs for this ungrateful group, do what you know needs to be done, let them bitch and moan to the ER all they want, let them attempt to file their ridiculous lawsuits and complaints. In a Court of law they will get NOWHERE. God I hope someone somewhere doesn't think this is an accurate reflection of our community. |

1 Uhh, ever since they got the utility easement, which means since before the houses were there. Seriously, can you really be this stupid? If the people in the article had paid attention when they signed their loan docs at the escrow office they'd have realized that there was a utility easement on the property. That pretty much gives PG&E the right to maintain that property however they see fit to protect the power lines. All this talk of a lawsuit is just BS. This case would be thrown out with a hearty dose of laughter. As for shooting people? Give me a break. If you want to be pistol-whipped with your own weapon, give me a call. |

1 Concow people can’t afford a chain saw so that means that some meth using crankster will steal mine and wouldn’t even be able to afford gas to run it. The same idiots are complaining who refused to cut their brush and trees all year. Now your house is burned to the ground and you are blogging on a computer at the library. So its time to let someone who knows what they are doing take control for once..PG&E |

I apologize for that generalization. Indeed there are people like that everywhere, and not all people in Concow fit into the category I spoke of. |

that was BRUTAL

Obviously, many people have not dealt with PG&E "arborists" or "professional tree trimmers", as I have over many years down in the valley. A herd of monkeys or baboons running wild in the jungle would be more qualified than the scum PG&E sends out.

1 I would tend to agree that PG&E employs subcontractors that are of, well, questionable ability. Recently they came through my neighborhood (older, established, large trees) and did a hack job on a crepe myrtle that's on city property just outside my property line. They left it unbalanced with two long slender branches shooting out to nowhere. I'll have to fix it myself if I want it done. However, the idea that the people in Concow have any recourse is ridiculous. PG&E has a utility easement/right-of-way on their property and would have no problem fending off litigation. |

ROFLMAO! |
